Ashland Wheat
M.A.Staff Counselor

Ashland holds a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Her undergraduate work was in Psychology, with a concentration of Christian Counseling. Ashland has several years of experience working with individuals and families in areas including, but not limited to, drug and alcohol use, depression, ADD/ADHD, domestic violence, divorce or separation, foster care
Ashland has particular interests in working with couples from dating through marriage, with biological or blended families through all stages of development, with individuals who are seeking personal growth, and with those who are trying to overcome substance use issues. She firmly believes that the best possible approach to counseling lies within the integration of modern psychology and traditional biblical principles. Ashland stands on the Truth that God has plans for each and every person who will genuinely seek Him, even when the present circumstances of this life do not seem to make sense. Ashland finds fulfillment in walking alongside people who are broken and hurting, in order to help them discover or re-discover the joy God wants them to have.
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” (Isaiah 61:1-3, NIV)
